VOLUNTEER AT A HOSPITAL
Do you enjoy helping people? Do you have an interest in medicine or nursing?
Volunteering at your local hospital might be just the right thing for you.
Many hospitals offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to young people. Even Marissa and Summer on "The O.C." were candy stripers!
What Do Volunteers Do?
Volunteer activities at a hospital might include bringing books to patients, sitting and talking or reading to patients, helping to stock nursing supplies, helping nurses to take patients for walks, and helping nurses to deliver medications.
How to Get Started
Contact local hospitals to learn more about volunteer opportunities in your area. To get started, just look up "Hospitals" in your phone book or Yellow Pages. Then call one that's nearby, and ask to speak to the Volunteer Coordinator or the Director of Volunteers.
