BF'S MOM READ THEIR PRIVATE EMAILS

Dear Jellybean,

My boyfriend and I always write ooey gooey mushy lovey dovey cutsy wootsy (lol sorry about that I'm just trying to make a point) emails to eachother, at least three a week for the past eight months, and his mom hacked into his email account and read all of the ones from me. Every time I see her now I just want to hide under a rock lol she was really nice about it though considering she doesn’t like him having a gf anyways

I'm sure it feels totally weird to know that his mom read your mushy gooshy letters to her son. But... you should not feel embarrassed, SHE should. Hacking into his email was seriouly wrong (not to mention kind of pathetic). Not only did she invade her son's privacy, but she showed a total lack of consideration for him. What she read was only the business of two people - you and your BF. If his mom doesn't feel ashamed for her behavior, she really should.

When you feel embarrassed around your BF's mom now, remind yourself that YOU are in the right, and SHE should feel bad for what she did. Plus, it could be a lot worse... I'm sure she was relieved to read mushy stuff, and not sexual stuff. Try not to dwell on it, put the incident out of your mind, and take each day as a new one. And for goodness sake, tell your BF to get a new, more secure email account, and NOT give the address to his mom!
