JEALOUS OF BFF

Dear Jellybean,

My best friend has always been reserved, but now she has started to become more outgoing. I'm happy for her, but also jealous. She has a new popular boyfriend, and can't stop obsessing over him. Also, she has all these new friends who she always talks to and hangs out with. I'm not losing her in anyway, because we are still incredibly close, but I'm also incredibly jealous. She always came to me for everything and clung to me. Now, however, everybody wants to be friends with her. How do I deal with this?

Dear Jealous,

Instead of being jealous of your BFF, consider her a valuable asset. She went from reserved to outgoing, popular and coupled up. It sounds like these are things you're seeking too, so why not have an honest talk with your friend? Tell her you're impressed by her transformation, and would like to pull the same thing off yourself. Ask her for tips, whether it's for a makeover, how to talk to new people to make friends, or what to say when you meet guys. Your friend will probably be flattered that you consider her an expert, and hopefully will be into sharing what she's learned.
