Dear Jellybean,
Halloween is coming around, and my mom and dad said that i could have a party. I have everything set for the party...EXCEPT THE GUESTS! I dont want to have a small party. I want to invite a whole bunch of people...I want my party to be packed, the thing is....i need a way to get new people to come to my party. Should i invite my entire grade ( even though 1/4 of them dont like me) or should i invite the select few of my closest friends( which would be like 10). Oh....and how can I get kids to come to my party!!!

Dear Clueless,
I know you have this dream of a packed party, but think about it for a minute. Would you rather have your house crammed with people, even if a bunch of them didn't like you, so you'd spend half the night wondering who was talking about you behind your back, plus they probably wouldn't care if they damaged the sofa, and might do bitchy stuff like ransacking your bedroom?
Or would you rather have a party with less people, but know they all like you, so you could relax and just have a great time?
I'll clue you in. Parties are fun because of the people at them. Every bad party I've ever been to, wasn't bad because of a lame theme, or unappetizing food, or because there were less than 50 people there. They sucked because the people who did attend were either obnoxious, or boring, or otherwise not my scene.
So don't go inviting everyone, if you're not friends with them all, just to get the number of guests up. People will enjoy (and let's be honest, judge) your party not by how many people attended, but by how much fun they had with the people who were there.
Invite your select closest friends, and enlist one or two to help you brainstorm awesome decorations, music, snacks, and fun activities for your party. Check out the Halloween Section on this website for party and recipe ideas. And have a fabulous Halloween, with the people who really care about you.
