I need help because my lips are constantly chapped and i can't stop..i seem to do it at school a lot or when i'm not occupied by something. PLEASE HELP!

Dear Chapped,

Lip nibbling is a common symptom of a person who is over-stressed. You need to deal with the stress before it ruins your looks!

Train yourself to relax. Stretching, deep breathing or regular exercise can reduce tension. When stress builds, take charge of it. Decide you will only do what you absolutely have to and say no to anything extra. Get enough sleep, eat well, and exercise regularly.

Now let's take care of your lips, the symptom of your stress problem. If you can get your lips looking better, it may help you to want to keep them that way - so you stop abusing them. Start by healing the damage you've done. Every morning and every night, apply a moisturizing balm to lips. Try Blistex or a similar brand that contains sunscreen, so you prevent sun damage while you heal the chapped-ness. Don't buy a yummy tasting brand, or you might just end up licking it off. Remember that licking your lips is bad, because it dries them out.

Once your lips are looking better, you can buy yourself a cute lipstick or two as a reward. When you have lips that look great in lipstick, hopefully you won't want to return to your old ways, because you'll see how much better it looks when your lips aren't gnawed to pieces.
